Email Our South City Officials

It’s up to South City officials to avoid a city worker strike. A strike could impact our parks, libraries, preschools, 911 call centers, and more.

Our 911 dispatchers, park workers, librarians, pre-school teachers, facilities maintenance, public works, and building and construction inspections workers deserve fair pay. These workers make about 12% less than those in neighboring cities doing similar jobs.

SSF Preschool Teacher Kristin says it’s time for the City to pay employees fairly.

Did you know that City Manager Mike Futrell has raked in nearly 31% in raises over 8 years? Futrell currently makes $307,590. That’s NOT including benefits like his free car, including gas, for personal use.

Meanwhile, some 120 other city workers are struggling to make ends meet.

Listen now to 911 Dispatcher Marisa on KQED

KQED interviewed Marisa, a South San Francisco 911 dispatcher about why she’s considering going on strike.

More than 95% have signed commitments to go on strike if South San Francisco doesn’t commit to paying the same as neighboring cities.

We can’t afford to lose the hard working people who make South City a great place to live.

South City has nearly $60 million in reserves, nearly half the annual operating budget, and twice what’s legally required. We have more than enough to pay our workers a little more.
